It’s Sara, owner of PoodleROO. If you want to know a little bit about who started PoodleROO and why, read on (I’ll keep it short and sweet!)…
If I could count the number of times my dad told me “you can tell a lot about a person by how they treat animals” (read in Dad voice) growing up I’d be nothing short of a millionaire! My dear old dad was always seeking a home for some poor, rejected hunting dog, or coaxing over a very feral tomcat to have his raging ear mite infection treated (it worked, and Weester became our indoor cat!). It’s no surprise a career caring for animals was in my cards.
I graduated from Purdue University, like a good kid should, then spent 10 years grinding it out in various corporate settings. My time at the most fanatically service-oriented company in the US, Zappos.com, was the game-changer. The itch to start my own pet care business, applying the principles I’d learned at Zappos HQ was alive! So I moved to New Orleans, where my affection for animals and radically good service combined with my lack of affection for being an employee, and PoodleROO came bouncing into the world. I’m adamant about the focus of this business being not only providing excellent pet care, but demonstrating personal client care and providing an enjoyable place for good people to work. As much as I hated reporting to a boss, I love working for a client (really, I’m not just saying that) and collaborating with other animal lovers.
You have many EXCELLENT pet care options in New Orleans, all with unique strengths. If you want to work with a company that serves your needs as well as your pets’ needs, we’d love to hear from you!

When people ask me what I do for a living I say…
I run a pet sitting and dog walking business in Uptown, New Orleans.
But what I really want to say is…
I provide a clientele of busy professionals with peace-of-mind via excellent pet care, consistent and honest service, and a “get it done” modus operandi.
And what I really, really want to say is…
I am married to a business-minded guy (with a rather glorious beard) and we love to sit and talk about how to better run businesses, and how to better serve the people we work for and with. We love to eat like kings and are always figuring out which New Orleans restaurant to try next. I’m always daydreaming about our next trip. I love yoga and exercise, in general. I love to snuggle with my very adorable but arrogant tuxedo cat, Pepper.
